This is a clip from an article about the Netscape source release that was on news.com: The fact that anyone can develop add-ons and independent software for Netscape's browser will make it hard to control quality, said Craig Beilinson, product manager for Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser. Somehow, the fact that anyone can develop add-ons and independent software for it doesn't seem to have hurt Linux very much :-) Moreover, I would say that Netscape has been more dangerous to its own quality than (Keep that gun aimed squarely at your foot at all times!) than free software development could ever be :-) Microsoft had more strong words to say about it.
