sorry for my first steps into the "obscure "hardware journey into a SS2...but .... Jhon little: I follow your instructions to install the 100 mb on a ss2. hopefully sucessful at the ok prompt probe-scsi boot -rv show the quantum 100 mb drives . now at the command prompt: as a root drvconfig disks format disk select the quantum100 mb verify shows the following (at this moment i was trying to change the partiton table for the drive but seems like there is one problem with the partiton id,s ..?) part tag flag cyl size blocks 0 root wm 0 0 1 swap wu 2 backup wu 0 - 973 . . . 6 usr wm 0-973 " i think i have two partitions with the same id??? usr and backup i just want to make a single partition....."""" also to change the flags for the partition ..what is wu ? only for swap and backup partitions? only read permissions? wm ?for usr/,,write/read permissions? can i delete the backup partition tag and the other tags too..? how can i do this??????? then i use at the root prompt.."this finally works" #mount /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s6 /disk2 " i create a folder /disk2 to mount the quantum100 mb" then when i try to write something to /disk2 the console shows NOTICE /disk2: out of inodes or in openwindows shows no free space. can help..? to use the partition command within format..... i guess i am givin the wrong options.....which should be the order of the partition creation..??? and delete the partiton table/and tags and recreate new ones..????? pls advice. sorry for bombing with questions.... --------------------------------------------------------------- TLUG Meeting Dec. 13, 12:30 at Tokyo station Yaesu Chuo ticket gate 13:30 Starbuck's coffee. 13:45 HSBC | info: joem@example.com At least 3 functional Sparc IPC machines will be raffled out --------------------------------------------------------------- a word from the sponsor: TWICS - Japan's First Public-Access Internet System www.twics.com info@example.com Tel:03-3351-5977 Fax:03-3353-6096
