I could sure use some. This _may_ not apply here, but in my personal experience, all SCSI-related disk problems I have seen have been due to some sort of improper termination. The biggest issues have been attempting to connect terminate a wide SCSI bus which contained one or more narrow SCSI devices (my motherboard's built-in 2940 only has a wide connector). It appears from the log I quoted above, that the drive is some variety of narrow SCSI... how is the chain connected? Only the drive and the CD-ROM? Is it on a wide or narrow bus off of the 2940, and what (if anything) is connected to the other bus? Especially be careful to check if the drive is trying to auto-terminate. I have had best results with turning termination off on all devices and having a self-termination SCSI chain. On the other hand, you could have an honest-to-deity driver issue.
