David, I can't remember exactly where I saw it, but I believe it was on the http://www.linux.org/ page. They have a list of support hardware. Although, I've used Linux on several different systems which have had both IDE and SCSI cdroms, and haven't had a problem yet. I know when you load RedHat, it gives you quite a list of CDplayer types to work with. On three of my friends systems which I loaded Linux, they all had basically different players, but I used the generic SCSI or ATAPI IDE cdplayer, and they (and I) haven't had any trouble. Anyway, I hope this helps. Like I said, there is a list on the above page (I believe), I'll double check and let you know.
