tlug: html to postscript converter.

--------------------------------------------------------
tlug note from "Andrew S. Howell" <andy@example.com>
--------------------------------------------------------

It always starts out this. I have this bright idea of how to make life
simpler for myself, and it ends up being more difficult. I send a fax
out every week to a group of runners. The source of this info is on a
web page, which I then re-type into MS Word, generate a postscript
file, and use hylafax to send it. Not optimal, but it works.

So it thought, why not just save the web page as postscript directly,
and avoid the typing. I thought netscape would make this real easy for
me, but unfortunately it does not respect your font settings, so the
page gets set to a large font, resulting in the right half of the page
being clipped. :-(

Does anyone know get netscape to behave?

I looked around for some html to ps converters, but have not really
found anything the does the job. I found one at:

	ftp://ftp.tdb.uu.se/pub/sources/html2ps/

but it does not seem to work with tables though, at least in my
limited testing. It uses lynx to grab the html, which I didn't have
but have now installed. Not a bad text based browser.

There was also a reference to a guy at netscape, who did their ps
widget, but it seems he had a falling out with the management and
whatever he had, is not available anymore. :-(

I'd like something that I can just pass it a URL and it spits out
postscript for the page, resized to fit A4. Any ideas?

Andy
