To treat the symptom, the easiest way is to make denismcm a "trusted" user.
If you are hacking an existing /etc/sendmail.cf, look for a "Trusted users"
section.  It will include either something like Ft/etc/sendmail.ct (which
means you should add denismcm to the specified file) or a series of entries
like:
Troot
Tdaemon
Tuucp
add
Tdenismcm

If you are making your own sendmail.cf, add
FEATURE(use_ct_file)
