I would try using something like cu or tip to login manualy. This
won't give you a PPP session, but at least you'll be able to see what
prompts they send. Also, try it at a more reasonable speed, say 9600
or 19200 and see what happens. I know some modems can't sent AT
commands to the modem when its connect a 115200.

Once its working a lower speed, jack it back up and see where the bits
lay...
