-------------------------------------------------------- tlug note from Yong-Ming Hua <yhua@example.com> -------------------------------------------------------- Hi, oda>I'm trying to print to a Kyocera L880S printer with Linux. I oda>have the printer connected to my parallel port and can oda>spit out a limited amount of ASCII text. I want to use oda>something like GhostScript to filter output to the printer. oda>The Kyocera printer is not listed in the supported DEVICE oda>listing when I do a oda> # gs -h oda> I've tried the standard LaserJet4, NEC, and epson to see if oda>it was compatible with a common printer. No luck so far. oda>Should I try to recompile gs and look for an optional file oda>with more printer devices? oda> The Kyocera printer does not appear to contain standard oda>PostScript fonts since a cat of a PostScript file prints oda>out the PostScript commands as text. I've got exactly the same situation. I have Canon Laser LPxxx, which isn't listed in the printer choice offered. I tried everything. But what comes out of the printer is just gibberish. When it comes to the need of printing, I am sort of Linux嫌い。Could anyone possibly make me a complete lover of Linux? It is easy to get a Postscript printer, but I have already a Canon which cost me quite a lot. I don't like to waste extra money.
