Umm, Linux does have Motif. (I personally packaged SWiM Motif in the
Debian format for a local company, and I own a copy of MetroLink
Motif.) Moreover, Netscape uses motif.

Also, w.r. XEmacs, I tried --with-xim=motif on Linux, and it still
didn't work. (I don't get crashes, but neither <Shift>Space nor
<Ctrl>Kanji started kinput.)

If I can find some time in the next couple of weeks, I'll try it on
Slowaris at work.
