Hi, sorry to keep bothering everyone with this lpr question. Well, I've recompiled the kernel to 2.0.27 and have checked to make sure that the printer module is being loaded. [root@example.com tmp]# cat /proc/modules lp 2 0 (autoclean) nfs 12 5 (autoclean) I've deleted the entire lpr suite and recompiled and installed the suite from source (lpr version 5.9). I can start everything: [root@example.com /root]# lpc start all myprinter: printing enabled daemon started However, when I do a status, there is no daemon: [root@example.com /root]# lpc status myprinter myprinter: queuing is enabled printing is enabled 1 entry in spool area no daemon present It seems to have vaporized: [root@example.com /root]# lpq -Pmyprinter Warning: no daemon present Rank Owner Job Files Total Size 1st root 7 (standard input) 299 bytes 2nd root 8 (standard input) 114 bytes I even start it manually with /usr/sbin/lpd -l it shows up in a ps -aux |grep lpd However, the -l flag doesn't give me any errs. Any ideas????????????? ahhhhggghhh...... I want to print...
