Hi Craig, A package has been developed that was designed to handle this situation. It requires the ISP to be running at least sendmail 8.7.5+, perl and a modified finger daemon. In summary using sendmail's new mailertables it creates a new mailer called BSMTP (Batch SMTP) which is associated with your domain on the ISP side. If you are online then the message is delivered immediately, otherwise it is stored in a separate queue. Then when you connect you finger a specific account to trigger delivery of the queue. Did you want to give it a go ?? :-).
