Boy, that program is something of a mess, and installation is really
primitive.  I may do some patching so that default path is the default 
for the "-d" option (I don't really think I want to have names loaded
all the time...).

I don't think this is going to happen soon.  edict.el was clearly
written for nemacs/emacs 18.5x.  Yaaargh.  I'll take a look at it, but 
unless the authors have fixed it up....  And if you want to see a
really recondite shell code, check out install.edict.  Double-yaaargh.

Ah, well.
