Yup, it is a bit of a mess. I think the author mentioned that it was done while learning C. Mess or not, its usefull. That is why I was thinking of "autoconfiging" it. To both clean it up and learn autoconf. Work as been taking it toll though, so I haven't gotten around to it... Ah, the 48hour day...
