My machine runs Linux Mint, 21.3 Cinnamon, Edge. I am using fctix-Mozc since a few years and got it up and running pretty quickly.Me too, and I've already posted twice my simple recipe (included below) for getting it working, and I'm left baffled why people are still saying things don't work.I had started to wonder if it was because I use xfce, but if it works on Cinnamon too that is unlikely. I also doubt it is Mint, as I think all the packages are Ubuntu-maintained ones.Darren --------------- sudo apt install fcitx5-mozc fcitx5-pinyin With all the deps it becomes 60 packages, 123MB archives, 456MB of disk! Then you _must_ logout and login. Now right-click the keyboard icon in the panel, configuration. Search for "mozc" and double-click to add. Do same with "pinyin". Ctrl-space now works to start/stop Japanese.Use ctrl-right-shift (or ctrl-left-shift) for it to be Pinyin instead, and to loop round between IME choices.
