I have an early 2011 MBP. It works fine with 16GB that I added right from the beginning.

I did that last November and it's the best thing that ever happened to this machine so far.

I'm reaching half the original battery power now, which means about 3 hours of work, That's a bit short but not too short to require a battery change right now. Do you confirm that Apple can change the battery even on this machine?
