Only in that it's far more concise than the ones you quote.  The
semantics are the same, though, except for the variant where the elite
is defined by accident of birth!

I certainly don't see how the definitions you quote would justify
calling Linux people, LUGgers, or OSS advocates in general "elitist".
"Meritocratic", yes; "elitist", no.
