I noticed reports of radioactivity detected in Tokyo water [1], though still within safe limits apparently. Are any of the independent geiger counters measuring water? Am I correct in thinking there is nothing we can do except wait (if iodine then the half-life is 8 days, but that means nothing without knowing how high the concentration is). I guess boiling doesn't help. Do water filters remove iodine, and if so would that be enough? Sounds like I need my own geigercounter for peace of mind in the next month or two :-(.
