Anyway, I thought I would ramble to the list and see what ideas people
might have.

For me, I'd like; a few USB, wired ethernet, wifi, ESATA port, 1+GB RAM,
internal SATA (SSD), some kind of audio out, HDMI out and enough grunt
to play 1080p H.264 would be good. But most important - no moving parts.
No fans. Silent.

The Fit-PC2 wins on most things but ESATA and being maybe slightly pricey.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but extremely cheap. There is a shop on the road that is out the back door of T-Zone DIY, between the two Clevery shops, selling ordered-but-never-used HP t5730w thin clients for about JPY 8,000 all in. 1Gb processor. Fanless. They're hard wire and WiFi LAN capable, have a 2GB card, two USB 2.0 front connectors, four rear USB, mike and headphone connectors front and rear.

You can D/L either WIN XP or Arm Linux images from the HP site and *buntu can also be made to run it.

I picked one up for Skype (although it doesn't like my camera, which keeps asking for a faster processor and which I will replace with a netbook camera as soon as Logitech confirms that it will ship the one I want to Japan).
