I made some modifications to the instructions in the first link and
managed to get the /dev/ttyUSB* files and connect with gnome-ppp.
Howerver, I only get 7 packets out, and 5 packets in (IIRC - the
initial handshake?), and after that internet still doesn't work.
Perhaps gnome-ppp and the NetworkManager (gnome) don't play well
together? I will try again tonight.
