TLUG,
I feel like I'm always shedding used electronics. Here's some more. One
of the items I still think has some worth, but the rest are free.
Sale:
Palm Pilot TX.
Unfortunately, I lost the USB connector cable, so that's a bit of an
inconvenience. For the last year or so I've just been using it as my MP3
player and Japanese dictionary. Takes SD cards of up to 2GB, maybe more,
not sure.
Comes with install disks (for Windows - for Linux connectivity all
software needed is available in repositories), recharger, 128MB SD Card,
Manual, 2 unused protective covers, and a hard metal case. The metal
case has taken a bit of a beating, so it's in sore shape. But on the
upside, that's it's job, so the Palm device itself is in great
condition. One thing about this unit, unlike most used Palm Pilots, is
that the screen still works impeccably. No dead spots.
Last I looked in Akihabara, these were going for around 10,000 yen. I
checked on eBay, and it seems these go for about 80 bucks US. Since mine
has no USB cable, I'm thinking 3000 yen?
Free:
(Free means that you have to arrange to either come pick it up in
Ebisu/Hiroo, or I'll send it to you COD/Chakubarai. I'll place things in
whatever packaging I have lying around that might do the job. Oh, it
also means no promises about... well, anything really. Priority goes to
people who offer to take all the items.)
Internal 3 1/4 slot size card reader.
Generic brand, connects by USB. Reads SD cards, Micro SD cards, Sony
memory sticks, a bunch of other formats. I used it primarily for reading
SD cards, but it can only take up to 1GB capacity, so I had to replace
it. It only cost about 1500 yen new. But it's free for you if you want it.
Phone.
Just a phone. A white one. Basic. Has numbers. Can make calls. It's
nice. Brand new condition. Don't remember the last time I ever had a
land line, and I'm not sure even why I have this.
Sony PCG-XR7E/K Laptop.
It almost runs, but not quite. I wiped Windows off and tried installing
Ubuntu, but the installer just wouldn't finish. I think it's the hard
drive, but I wouldn't make any promises. It's an older model, has a PCI
card Ethernet connection. Comes with charger. It's a little dusty and
worn in places, but pretty good shape given it's age, I think. It wasn't
mine - someone gave it to me saying I could keep it if I could make it
work. Since it's beyond me to get any reaction out of it, maybe someone
here would fare better.
