I use rEFit <http://refit.sourceforge.net/> to boot OS X, Windows, and 
Linux on my iMac.

Or at least I used to.  It is still installed, but I always use it to 
boot OS X and then run the other operating systems within VirtualBox 
<http://www.virtualbox.org/>.  This makes it easy to run Linux (Ubuntu, 
Fedora, and others that I seem to keep around just long enough to answer 
someone's question), OpenSolaris, and WinXP.  You can even use full 
screen mode to make it look "real."  All very painless.

Someday I should recover the wasted partition space.
