I wish I could do this, but I have no multimeter at hand. I will try
to find one at work tomorrow. So right now I don't know if the
adapter itself works.

I have only one battery. I have another laptop but the battery format
is different. I will try to find another similar laptop if I can. I
think that the battery is ok since the computer was still working from
battery power until the battery was completely drained.
