Sure, but I can see the value of reimplementing them as a programming
exercise. I've been working on a C++ version of Tetris just for that
reason.

This is a problem.

Deepan, have you considered making the source available under a BSD or
GPL or Creative Commons licence?

Perhaps, but I delivered the official warning and was pleasantly
surprised to get a response, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of
the doubt.

None taken, but the offlist email in which you referred to me as a
