Yeah, his suggestion is that MS is getting ripped off,
and knows they are, but is turning an unofficial blind
eye because in the long run it keeps their OS on top.

For an OS provider, there are moneys they can expect to
get well beyond what the consumer market will spend just
on the OS.  :P  Revenue from licensing "Windows Compatible"
type labels, and chunks of code used to make drivers work,
and the like.  Economically it makes sense in a scary sort
of way. ^_^

Of course if the local economist wishes to disagree with me,
that is ok.  I'll accept real world experience and a college
degree over my couple of hours of high school courses any day. :P
