Well, this particular version.  There's a hint that earlier versions
*didn't* use rtfio, so maybe the old code was all free.

People who are worried about rtfio being closed might consider a fork
based on the older code.

NB  Keyboard drivers are inherently platform-specific.  Japanese
dictionary-driven backends are exceptions to that.
