Just a quick thanks to Edward (and Stephen for confirming) about that
IFS issue.  I just ran into a similar problem yesterday, and had we not
had that thread, I would have been googling for quite awhile, I think,
wondering why my IFS="" wasn't working. 

Edward's $'\n' works perfectly.
