If it's been detected and boot just continues without a warning telling you to do something, it's been handled. Linux generally does not use the BIOS once boot has started. However, there are some facilities that Linux may not know how to enable, or if they are not enabled in the BIOS, Linux may not be able to get the information needed to decide how to use some advanced feature. So, it's like all those features in the kernel that when configuring say, "If you don't know why you need this, you don't need it at all. It's safe to say NO."
