Support for JMicron came in at kernel 2.6.18 I believe. I have that controller too and Fedora Core 6 handled it fine though centOS 4.4 (which is 2.6.9?) didn't. I ordered a core 2 duo from Dospara (actually I ordered through Prime PC which is the english dept. but the box itself was off the dospara site and not the linked prime pc site. Dospara has more selections...) after reading performance / energy consumption reviews at tom's hardware. Then a friend needed a cheap box and I ran across a W sys admin (really nice guy) with a roomfull of stuff in his daughter's room. 8laptops - 11 desktops with monitors. Near Shinjuku -- a list is at: http://www.koyuru.com/forsale/available_boxes.pdf Shawn
