me neither.  just using the gui.  the hardware that was listed was not
what matched what my motherboard manual says would be.  I noticed an
entry for the correct hardware.  so i deleted and created an entry for
the hardware and device.  that was for the onboard lan.

thought that it wouldn't work due to the driver (based on google)

so got rid of all entries and put in a new card then rebooted.
didn't touch the entries after rebooting.


off to a birthday party .. will write more tonight.
