I haven't tried NetBSD 3.x yet, but NetBSD 2 was not able to deal with
my dual-core opteron, throwing oopses and file system glitches all
over the place.

Linux 2.6 worked fine out of the box, although I had to do some manual
futzing with the memory hole when I added a second dual-core
processor---it had trouble finding all of the memory.  Literally it
went down the hole, I guess.
