Ian, Evan, Thank you for the command. I have included the results below. It doesn't say anything about aMule on port 80. However, Firestarter still does. I've put a screen shot here: http://www.autotelic.com/firestarter.png And, since I've now found the handy "take screenshot" function in the Gnome panel, I've included the port mapping and DHCP settings that I've set up on my router: http://www.autotelic.com/dhcp-settings.png http://www.autotelic.com/port-mapping.png And, as I did all this, aMule is reporting that I have a "lowID". Does any of this information help point towards the root of this problem? dave@example.com:~$ sudo lsof -i COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME portmap 7999 daemon 3u IPv4 9038 UDP *:sunrpc portmap 7999 daemon 4u IPv4 9039 TCP *:sunrpc (LISTEN) hpiod 8988 hplip 0u IPv4 11583 TCP localhost.localdomain:32769 (LISTEN) hpiod 8988 hplip 2u IPv4 11589 TCP localhost.localdomain:32769->localhost.localdomain:34764 (ESTABLISHED) python 9011 hplip 4u IPv4 11649 TCP localhost.localdomain:32770 (LISTEN) python 9011 hplip 5u IPv4 11654 TCP localhost.localdomain:34764->localhost.localdomain:32769 (ESTABLISHED) python 9011 hplip 7u IPv4 23763 TCP localhost.localdomain:40813->localhost.localdomain:ipp (ESTABLISHED) spamd 9038 root 5u IPv4 11692 TCP localhost.localdomain:spamd (LISTEN) spamd 9094 root 5u IPv4 11692 TCP localhost.localdomain:spamd (LISTEN) spamd 9095 root 5u IPv4 11692 TCP localhost.localdomain:spamd (LISTEN) spamd 9096 root 5u IPv4 11692 TCP localhost.localdomain:spamd (LISTEN) spamd 9097 root 5u IPv4 11692 TCP localhost.localdomain:spamd (LISTEN) spamd 9098 root 5u IPv4 11692 TCP localhost.localdomain:spamd (LISTEN) mysqld 9495 mysql 3u IPv4 12215 TCP localhost.localdomain:mysql (LISTEN) master 9705 root 11u IPv4 12573 TCP localhost.localdomain:smtp (LISTEN) nmbd 9819 root 6u IPv4 13001 UDP *:netbios-ns nmbd 9819 root 7u IPv4 13002 UDP *:netbios-dgm nmbd 9819 root 8u IPv4 13004 UDP 192.168.0.102:netbios-ns nmbd 9819 root 9u IPv4 13005 UDP 192.168.0.102:netbios-dgm smbd 9825 root 20u IPv4 13092 TCP *:microsoft-ds (LISTEN) smbd 9825 root 21u IPv4 13093 TCP *:netbios-ssn (LISTEN) rpc.statd 9841 root 4u IPv4 13104 UDP *:692 rpc.statd 9841 root 5u IPv4 13087 UDP *:689 rpc.statd 9841 root 6u IPv4 13107 TCP *:695 (LISTEN) apache2 9918 root 3u IPv6 13222 TCP *:www (LISTEN) apache2 9951 www-data 3u IPv6 13222 TCP *:www (LISTEN) apache2 9952 www-data 3u IPv6 13222 TCP *:www (LISTEN) apache2 9953 www-data 3u IPv6 13222 TCP *:www (LISTEN) apache2 9954 www-data 3u IPv6 13222 TCP *:www (LISTEN) apache2 9955 www-data 3u IPv6 13222 TCP *:www (LISTEN) gnome-cup 10035 dave 16u IPv4 14879 TCP localhost.localdomain:54704->localhost.localdomain:ipp (ESTABLISHED) cupsd 10311 cupsys 0u IPv4 14876 TCP localhost.localdomain:ipp (LISTEN) cupsd 10311 cupsys 4u IPv4 14880 TCP localhost.localdomain:ipp->localhost.localdomain:54704 (ESTABLISHED) cupsd 10311 cupsys 5u IPv4 23764 TCP localhost.localdomain:ipp->localhost.localdomain:40813 (ESTABLISHED) amule 11136 dave 8u IPv4 17500 UDP *:4665 amule 11136 dave 9u IPv4 17501 TCP *:4662 (LISTEN) amule 11136 dave 10u IPv4 17502 UDP *:4672 amule 11136 dave 11u IPv4 21058 TCP 192.168.0.102:59362->83.149.123.189:www (ESTABLISHED) -- Dave M G
