Because the custom Ye Olde Guard is used to uses attributions and
interleaved responses with irrelevancy trimming.  This method is known
to work well in more or less technical channels like TLUG.

As far as I'm concerned, you can do what you want, because you cannot
annoy me, not for very long.  If I find you sufficiently annoying, at
the cost of four keystrokes I can reconfigure so that your messages
simply will never appear on my screen.  *I* may not matter to you, but
I'm not the only one who feels that way ... and the folks who answer
more questions than they ask are heavily overrepresented in the group
that does feel this way.
