I would go so far as to say that a UNIX programmer should not be
without the W. Richard Stevens bookshelf, including:
- APUE
- UNPv1 (UNIX Network Programming, Volume 1: The Sockets Networking API) [1]
- UNPv2 (UNIX Network Programming, Volume 2: Interprocess Communications) [2] *
- TCP/IP Illustrated, Volume 1: The Protocols [3]
- TCP/IP Illustrated, Volume 2: The Implementation [4] **
* Not "necessary", just *highly* recommended
** Serious TCP stack kernel hackers only
