It's easy to see how it saves time on the assembly line. The need to go beyond common sense - yes, absolutely! But the design of that drive falls short of even base common sense! It would be nice if they were actually quality engineers interested not only in saving time on the production line, but also continuing to make a quality product. They should have known better than to use that design. The drive was two years old, have you experience failures with newer versions of Seagate? Lyle
