Answering myself in case someone else is interested.
Bought a RATOC REX-CFU1 usb host adapter CF card, there are drivers for
the Z and installation was a breeze. Both the iPod and the camera works
nicely with usb-storage. Now I have 40Gb for my Z. Way too cool.

Now back to networking...
