Re: [tlug] xjdic binary error
Correct, I have not added any lines to the "vconj" file?
this is my directory/file setup:
/usr/jdics
romkana.cnv
edict kanjstroke vconj
gnu_licence radicals.tm
kanjidic radkfile
/root/bin
Makefile
however when I do "find .xjdicrc"
I get
/root/bin/.xjdicrc.skel
but it appears to be missing! I can't even "cat .xjdicrc.skel".
The same "missing" file situation happends with xjdxgen as follows...
locate xjdxgen
/usr/bin/exjdxgen.c
/usr/bin/xjdxgen.c
/usr/bin/xjdxgen
As you can see, the binary is there however it is not listed in /usr/bin when I
changedir to /usr/bin. Only the xjdic binary is there.
In my dictionary directory called "xjdics" are....
Makefile xjdcomm.c xjdic23.WHATSNEW xjdrad.c
dotar24* xjdfrontend.c xjdic24.WHATSNEW xjdsa.c
exjdxgen.c xjdic.1 xjdic24.inf xjdservcomm.c
makekanjstroke.c xjdic.h xjdic24.install xjdserver.c
xjdclient.c xjdic22.WHATSNEW xjdic24.tar xjdxgen.c
Thanks for your help.

Curious. I assume you haven't added any lines to the "vconj" file?

So you have a file called "jdics" listed in your .xjdicrc file?

Erm. There is no file called "xjdxgen.h", just "xjdxgen.c". "make all"
should have made a binary for it.

Looks as though a few things have been conflated. There is no -d option
for xjdxgen. The "-d dictionary_file" option is for the xjdic program.
The "SA" is a tag meaning StandAlone. As it say in the man page:
"Options are tagged: CL, SA or SV according to whether they
are applicable to the Client, Stand-alone or Server versions."

Make sure you have a xjdxgen binary.

xjdic operates with the kterm set to either EUC-JP or ISO-2022-jp. It
ignores the LANG variable.
I can help more, but I need to know what is in the .xjdicrc file, and
a list of files in your dictionary directory.
For SuSE there is a standard install script for xjdic that Mike Fabian
made, and I think there is a standard Debian install too.
