Do we have any Apache experts out there?

I have to move a ssl server off a very old machine to a newer one but
the old server key (private key) is encrypted. When starting on the new
machine it asks for a pass phrase. We think that on the old machine the
pass phrase was supplied automatically, for the life of me I can't work
out how or where that would happen.
