More or less--they do have an opt, though, which annoys me.

Usually, /usr/bin and that stupid /opt. (I don't know what my prejudice
is against it.)

BSD-ish--Crux is probably more BSDish, Arch is binary, so more
reminiscent of Deb.  But take a look at

My page on it is linked to in their tips and tricks section, and it's
also mentioned on my Japanese page--though the original problem, that
glibc was being built without locales has been changed.
