When you install Win4Lin, it by default creates a folder like

/home/dan/win

and then puts all the windows program files there as if it were doing
c:\windows. It creates \My Documents, and whatever else, in the same
folder. If you have a windows partition, you can also change your
default document folders to use the same one.

I used it for about a month, but gave up because of:

(1) the basic limitations of memory, code page, and so forth of Win 98.

(2) the requirement that you boot up in the modified Win4Lin kernel,
which rendered my RHN automatic updates basically useless.

(3) I simply was not using it enough to make 1 and 2 worthwhile.

Aside from that, it was problem-free, and quite fast and stable. I was
really in the midst of struggling to do my best to do everything I could
on Linux, so having this available was sort of counterproductive. But if
you have a Windows user who wants to use the machine all the time, it
may well be worth it.
