What kind of reason? Well, delivering that stuff would be expensive. Besides a bunch of hardware, software, and bandwidth, you'd either have a lot of developer time spent making a good *nix simulator to play in, or you'd have to be running a bunch of virtual Linux machines in which people could play as root but not really damage anything. It's hard to see a way to provide such a thing without charging for it.
