- Subject: [tlug] yahoo!bb, dhcp, eth1
I'm trying difficulties with yahoo!bb. I have dhcpcd and dhcp installed (this is on a box with RH7.1) I've got /etc/.../ifcfg-eth0 setup like this: DEVICE="eth0" IPADDR="192.168.1.1" NETWORK="192.168.1.0" ONBOOT="no" BOOTPROTO="none" and /etc/.../ifcfg-eth1 setup like this: DEVICE="eth1" ONBOOT="yes" BOOTPROTO="dhcp" and /etc/sysconfig/network like this: NEWORKING=yes GATEWAY="eth1" GATEWAYDEV="" /etc/modules.conf like this: alias eth0 3c509 * do I need to put eth1 in modules.conf as well. if so, with the same driver, something that matches the yahoo!bb modem, or something else? * I wondering if perhaps the kernel does not have dhcp enabled; how can one tell? * This is the setup from the hole in the wallj: modularjack -- modem -- lan hub I am unclear as to where in the lan hub one should plug in the lan cord that leads from the yahoo!bb modem, i.e., in any of the slots, or in the principle slot (which is where the cord from the server is plugged in now). Thanks in advance. -- Tony Laszlo http://www.issho.org/laszlo.html
