What would be REALLY cool, though, is if we finally got a tri-lingual CJK input method that didn't need X at all, so that we could use CJK with all the different encodings under the Frame buffer console as well as under X.
Perhaps a modification to the VGA framebuffer module in the kernel would prove to be the final solution to this problem.
Then we could truly get rid of kinput2, ami, xwhatsit, you know, the Chinese one, and all those other annoying little applications, backend servers, dictionary files, XIM... *Yawn* Zzzzzzzzzz.....
I guess it's about as likely as X being replaced by OpenGL, though. It won't happen until someone does it.
But it's a nice idea, ね、ね?

If I understand correctly, GTK2 apps are supposed to be to dynamically load different input modules...but how does the user set which input module he wants to use? Is this set on an app-by-app basis, or systemwide? It will be really great when we can ditch kinput2 once and for all. Thanks for your work.
