Are you slowly returning to the >Jonathan Q of yore? On a customer site :-) At home, my wife's computer is the one with the phone line in it, so between having some work these days and having a new baby (w/diarrhea at the moment), time to do anything about our home network, or lack of one, has been really scarce. >The solution, of course, is to use CUPS. Set that bitch up in JetDirect >mode, and I bet you sen yen it prints. Been there, done that, or I wouldn't be here doing this :-p CUPS did not, of course, work. It's not supposed to, it's CUPS. LPRng (does that mean No Go?) also will do JetDirect, but no joy there. The print server listens on 23 and 80 (for management), 515, and 631 (IPP). JetDirect is 9100, so it appears to have no mode for that. I tried CUPS with IPP too, but no print. Removed CUPS again since this is an old and slow machine with little room for things (Celery 366, 4 GB, 64 MB) that will basically just a Snort box, watching to see if anything gets past the firewall, and a syslog host for the firewall. If I could find out what the fscking print server wants to hear for a queue name, I'd be all set, but that nugget of info remains elusive. J >
