The first is *very* simple to setup based on IP addresses, but setting
up password authenticated SMTP is a little tricky.

Did you also get IMAP and APOP to work? I will be installing a mail
server next week which has to support all these.

That would be great. You should be able to get some ideas from the main
Exim FAQ. There is now one for Exim 4:

Also take a look at AMaViS - A Mail Virus Scanner (http://www.amavis.org/).
Ive used it with great results with both Sophos (http://www.sophos.com/)
and OpenAntiVirus (http://www.openantivirus.org/).
