That sounds like a different problem than the one I thought you
were having. (Does that mean if you do http://203.216.44.76/
you can see a web page?) If the problem is in resolving a host
name to an IP address, check the contents of your
/etc/resolv.conf file. It should contains lines similar to:
nameserver 43.224.255.1
nameserver 43.224.255.21
nameserver 218.176.253.2
(If it doesn't, add them with a text editor.)

As a KDE user, you would:
 - start konsole
 - become the root user by typing 'su -' (without the quotes) at
the shell prompt, and replying with the root user's password
   when prompted
 - start the network configuration tool by typing 'netconfig' at
   the prompt
If you have a single network card, all you should need to do
is mark the "Use dynamic IP configuration (BOOTP/DHCP)" box.

You would use a text editor (like KDE's Kate) to edit the file
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

Jim

P.S. If you are interested in learning some of the background,
I encourage you to add the Linux Network Administrator's
Guide (NAG) and Linux System Administrator's Guide (SAG) to
your reading list. These two short volumes (which are
available online or in print) provide a good introduction to
Linux operation. http://mirror.nucba.ac.jp/mirror/LDP/guides.html

A more informal book is this set of course notes from Central
Queensland University. It seems particularly targeted at
people making the Windows->Linux transition.
