Due to the great expense of the OS? Because of their vast contributions in resources and code? Entitlement to the effort of others is something I have trouble swallowing. > What Linux configuration tools are there (I'm already aware of Linuxconf and > Webmin)? Thought I would go ahead and say that I wouldn't trust linuxconf to do anything on my system. Haven't used webmin, but I also haven't heard it attacked with as much vitriol as people summon up when linuxconf comes into the picture. Someone on this group once referred to linuxconf as a great admin training tool. In as much as, you can use it to "configure" the system and then spend the day trying to fix it. But since you seem most interested in network shares, which based on your earlier comments I assume to be smb shares, may I recommend looking into LinNeighborhood. Graphical smb share browser. I used it a while back, seemed to work fine. Michael Doughty
