Jonathan that was an excellent post. This discussion reminds me of an excellent usenet posting from 1995 by Mark-Jason Dominus, entitled "Why Questions go Unanswered". It's not entirely relevant to this thread (it's about perl questions) but some of the points he makes are just dead on for technical newsgroups/mailing lists. http://perl.plover.com/Questions.html -- Tod McQuillin
