HiNote partitioning problem

Hi,

I'm trying to install linux (rh6.2) onto Digital HiNote VP545
notebook. It has er... Russian win95 installed on the only
partition.

Since it can use either floppy or CD, not both, I tried FTP install
from my desktop. Installation fails with a bunch of python exceptions
when I'm trying to repartition the disk.

PartitionMagic 4.0 fails to make any change to the partition table,
the error is: Error #600. Error trying to create batch file.

BIOS doesn't have any partition table protection settings.

Does anyone have an idea how I can repartition the disk?..
