Hi guys,
I have a bit of a quandry. I plan on getting the new NTT ISDN flat-fee service
which will require me to purchase to setup some sort of router at home. I plan
on switching to something faster as soon as it is available im my area so I
don't want to drop alot of money on a Yamaha DSU if there is something that
will tide me over for much less money. My current home setup is about 5 boxs
using a p-166 running openBSD /w NAT to access the internet. I see one of two
options. I can either get a cheap ISDN adapter, maybe motorola bitsurfer which
I have been seeing around Akihabara for about 3000 yen, and continue to use my
OpenBSD Box as the gateway, or I can get something like the Yamaha DSU. I see
the advantage pf the first option being it is much much cheaper. I fear that
I will lose some advantages that I'm not aware of at all(Speed, more NAT
features, etc.). My question is two-fold:

1. Does anyone have expereince with the bitsurfer pro? Should it play nicely
   with my OpenBSD box?

2. Aside from the builtin hub and support for multiple comunication devices
are there any significant features/fuctionality lost between the two
   devices?

3. Make that three-fold :) are there any other compelling reasons to go with
   the more expensive solution?

I know this is a bit off topic, but I would appreciate any help/incite you
guys can provide.

thanks,

Matt Doughty BOT BSC Japan
