All hearsay, so... As much as I remember about the Bitsurfers is that (1) when doing 128 K one had to enter the phone number twice separated by an ampersand as in "0353584860&0353584860" and (2) Motorola bailed out of the modem and TA business a while ago. So the name Bitsurfer seems to have flaky written all over it. If you're waiting for ADSL, don't hold your breath. Haven't used the Net Volante myself, but I have heard that configuring them for NAT is so simple it's scary. By the time ADSL reaches every home a Volante will probably have paid for itself. BTW, anyone out there own a Bitsurfer? -g Christopher Sekiya wrote: > > Sending email from a root account is bad. > > ----- Forwarded message from "Doughty, Matt" <doughtym@example.com> ----- > > Date: Fri, 4 Aug 2000 17:40:28 +0900 > X-From_: wileyc@example.com Fri Aug 4 17:40:28 2000 > Resent-Message-Id: <200008040837.e748b6W01171@example.com> > Old-Date: Fri, 4 Aug 2000 17:10:40 +0900 > X-From_: root@example.com Fri Aug 4 17:10:39 2000 > Old-Date: Fri, 4 Aug 2000 17:09:10 +0900 > From: "Doughty, Matt" <doughtym@example.com> > To: tlug@example.com > Subject: ISDN question > Reply-To: doughtym@example.com > Mail-Followup-To: tlug@example.com > X-Mailer: Mutt 1.0.1us > X-Diagnostic: Mail coming from a daemon, ignored > X-Envelope-To: tlug > Resent-From: wileyc@example.com > Resent-Date: Fri, 4 Aug 2000 17:37:06 +0900 > Resent-To: tlug@example.com > X-Diagnostic: Mail coming from a daemon, ignored > X-Envelope-To: tlug > > Hi guys, > I have a bit of a quandry.
